I adore this photo but have no idea where it is from...If it is yours, please let me know!

I'm thinking of doing a week of my favorite designers. Not surprisingly, three out of the four are French! The first is a bit of dreamy Chanel to kick off this glorious holiday week.

I am in LOVE with these little Chanel booties, I have the perfect vintage Dior cocktail dress to wear with them (am I the only one that selects the shoes and then builds the outfit?)

Oh my, oh my!!! This is too stunning! I'm not really one to wear brooches, however, I can surely find a spot for this little lovely! Perhaps I can tuck it into a messy bun, thread it through a shoe strap, or secure a scarf with it. Hmmm...

                Paris Parfait

Tulle, Aqua, quilted strappy wedges...This can only be a Chanel vitrine in Paris! What a dream.

I think I have posted this image before, but it is just too gorgeous. It combines my love of ballet and my love of Karl Lagerfeld...perfection.

Finally, for all of you out there in the middle of a storm a Chanel umbrella. It has been raining for days here in Southern California and I love it! I love that the rain waters the plants and cleans the roads. I love the sound of the rain and the snuggling near the fireplace. Try to stay dry while out there shopping and prepping for this special weekend!

Bonjour Mes Amis! Profuse apologies for not posting more often! I have been so busy with a very special project. I've been holding back sharing the news but I think now is the time to "let the cat out of the bag" so to speak.
I am so excited to announce that I have teamed up with the incredible Ebony from Mahogany Maddison and Paris Atelier furniture and accessories are going to be featured in her new boutique!

This is a stunning boutique in a French/Shabby Chic style. The brick and mortar shop is located in Historic Downtown Upland in California and it is going to be beautiful! I am so excited. I would love to see you there if you are in the area.

Even more exciting news: We are looking for unique and talented vendors to feature and would love to hear from you amazing bloggers out there. I think some of the most incredible talent is right here in the blogosphere. Please feel free to E~mail me with info, photos, and ideas at Atelierparis@Gmail.com

I will keep you posed with news from this fabulous adventure and miss you all so much! I am off to explore what I have been missing in your amazing post over the last few weeks. Merci!!!

Hello My Friends! Today is the day! The new Coco Avant Chanel movie is being released in France today. Those lucky ducks! If you do not speak French you may be waiting a while for the subtitled version. I cannot wait to see this movie. I am a huge fan of Coco Chanel. Not as much for the fashion (which is amazing) but more so for her life story. Very inspiring, very controversial, very real.

Audrey Tautou (of Amelie fame) is playing the young Coco. The stills from the film are stunning.

I can hardly contain my excitement!

What I wouldn't give to walk the back areas of the atelier! Who has Karl's number, I need a personal tour!

The photo shoot in Coco's apartment on Rue Cambon. I did a post on Chanel and her apartment many moons ago. Here it is if you are interested.

Some fabulous pics of Audrey for you.

I love this one! Very reminiscent of another Audrey to me!

Wow! I thought she was a great fit as the young Coco. Then I saw this image of Coco and Audrey next to each other. Definitely a match. I can imagine this is close to what Chanel looked like in her youth.

And, of course an image of the legend herself! If you are lucky enough to view the film, I would love to hear how it was. I can't wait to get my hands on it.
Until next time!

Bisou Mon Amis!

The swell life

Hello all! I recorded the new Chanel movie what seems like months ago & FINALLY watched it! So, now needless to say I am on a Chanel binge! What a woman!!! What a life! What a movie! Here are some pics of original Chanel couture from the decades that Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel was designing for the house of Chanel. All of the couture images are from the Met.

1934 described of being made with Metal & fabric! Stunning.
1936 How incredibly timeless. I would love to throw this number on and go somewhere spectacular! The opera maybe?
1984 I love this color & fabric! It is breathtaking. Oh this one is not from a time when Chanel was living & operating the couture house. It was too beautiful to pass up.
1938 Unbelievably beautiful!

1924 A classic Chanel

In the movie they showed her famous staircase in her infamous 31 Rue Cambon apartment. I became enamoured immediately! I could not help thinking how modern and glitzy it looked so I embarked on a whirlwind tour of her apartment (sadly, only on the web & not in person). I found out that she lived at the Ritz but kept her apartment above her boutique until the day she died. Upon her death they found only 3 complete outfits in her closet. They have left in exactly in the same condition to this day! Remarkable! I stumbled upon some incredible images & I am dreaming of the day I get to visit her lavish apartment!

The famous staircase that Coco would quietly sit on to view the reactions of the journalists and critics watching her shows. They say that her employees were instructed to spray her signature perfume before she came in so she would be greeted by the scent. I'm going to tell my husband to do that before I come home everyday! I wonder if he would do it? :)

This is her dining room. Could you just imagine sitting here at one her famous parties with the likes of Picasso & Missia! A girl could dream, can't she!

They say that everything in apartment is in pairs because she always longed for her other half & kept everything in couples to remind her. How sad :( To think that she had the world, fashion, friends, fortune, fame, & yet she lacked one very important element in her life. It makes me reflect...I may not be an heiress or have a great fortune but I am so fortunate & blessed to have my beautiful family! Anyway back to Coco...There is a chandelier in her living room that is just stunning the fixture has hidden 5's (for her signature fragrance) and interlocking C's for her logo. So pretty!

Also, sharing attention in this famous living room is a beige sofa. It is said that Chanel was very particular about who she would let sit that sofa! It seems almost sacrilegious that they let people sit on it today! My goodness!

Here is a lovely example of a set of her "pairs" a very miniature little birdcage. Oh! How ravishing would that look in my boudoir!?!
