Ditas collection of pointe shoes used in her performances
Bonjour! I had so much fun with the last post filled with corsets and feminine frills that I decided to post about the Queen of corsets and femininity...Dita Von Teese.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Dita feature in February's In Style showcasing her home. I love the way she lives and enjoys all of her vintage treasures daily. She really is a throwback to that glamorous age in Hollywood. She is rarely without her pinup Red lips and stockings.
The article was fascinating and the photos were glorious! If you have not seen it I highly encourage you to check out the pictures. They just ooze glamour, vintage swank, and retro beauty.

After that Jean Harlow~esque spread in In Style I searched for more photos of her "Old Hollywood" home. Unfortunately, these were all of the photos I could find.

I recently purchased her Burlesque book on Amazon and I have to tell you, it's gorgeous. The photos are over the top glamour and luxury. The content is well written and had me enthralled.

Bonjour My Friends, I have been reading so many amazing posts by all of you who are either in Paris or just home from a visit there. I have to say that the photos, the stories, and the images of the food and people have me longing to go back more than ever! Oh how I wish I was in Paris!

So, thinking of Paris made me think up a faux itinerary in my head. Where would we (my bestie and I) eat, where would we shop, how many days would we spend in the country, how many in Versailles, how many gorgeous French men would we have to turn down for dinner dates.

And of course...how many pairs of shoes would I need to pack!?! I know, I know, these are hardly practical to go meandering around the cobblestone streets with and hardly as chic as the Converse that everybody is wearing around town right now, but they are gorgeous.

This is a gorgeous Marie worthy room from Loft Life Magazine. I can't get past that enormous dripping chandelier (my ultimate weakness)!
Dior dresses on the steps of Versailles. Could you just imagine Marie and her companions the Duchesse de Polignac and the Princesse de Lamballe lazing away the days in these couture confections!?! Oh my!
This image from La La Lovely is just too pretty for words. The soft Pink bound books, the simple stark colors, the clean glass bottles, it's perfect.

I'm loving all of these images of Dita Von Teese right now. She has the most amazing style and her wardrobe is Va Va Va Voom! Everything from her hair to her make~up is stunning! If wearing corsets will get my waist to look that small, I'm going on a corset shopping spree!
I just love the velvet bow, the delicate rouching, and the dramatic variegated color. Breathtaking!
Her hair in this one is beautiful. As is the lush satin bow and that delicate lace.
This is one of my favorites. The details and the draping of this dress are so extensive and unique. I just adore it.

This one is hot, hot, hot! The Loubou's, the color, the sassy fit. I could never pull this one off but it's stunning on her. She is workin' it!
I wish this was a full length pic so I could see the rest of what looks like an amazing dress. I love that soft Lilac color and the shape of it. It's like Dita is from a whole different time. How does somebody look so polishes and finished all of the time? I would love to get my hair hair done in that Veronica Lake 'do!

More important than this gown...is that Versailles in the background? It sure looks like it to me! Versailles has seen some of the most incredible gowns walk across it's threshold. If those walls could talk. I promise that the next time I visit Versailles, I'm going to dress fancy. Not at all like a tourist. It's only the right thing to do!
I saved my favorite for last! This dress is a work of art. It's beautiful! The color, the beading, and detail. The cut and the fit. I'm in love! It's perfect for Spring.

Bonjour my friends! After months and months of waiting...This morning I breathlessly typed in the website address....There it was ~ better than I ever could have imagined! The Christian Louboutin website !!! Okay, so it officially launched on January 29th, but I've been out of the loop lately and a little behind. It is fun, whimsy, and fabulous! Just like his shoes. I'm in love...with at least 30 pairs. *sigh*
From the TimesI was actually inspired to go look at the sight after reading Kelli's latest fabulous post at A Rendez~Vous With Style. She talks about Louboutin's Marie~Antoinette inspired collection. What could be better than that, Marie~Antoinette, shoes, and a French designer? It sounds heavenly to me! Thanks Kelli! A poke around her site is so much fun! I especially love all of the Parisian tidbits and vintage finds! She is a girl after my own heart!

The website was launched with a huge party in Paris (I wonder if the gift bags included a pair of shoes)? They set the city ablaze with fireworks and partied all night long. Louboutin was quoted saying that "dawn never looked so beautiful in Paris".

The inception of Louboutin's trademark red sole is somewhat vague, but it seems that he was inspired to paint the sole of his shoe red after seeing an assistant painting her nails (red) while he was working on a shoe design. He immediately seized the bottle of nail polish and painted it directly on to the sole of the (prototype) shoe. Being pleased with the effect, he originally planned to paint all of his shoes with different coloured soles, however, after seeing the popularity of the red soled shoe he abandoned this idea, and allowed the red sole to become his signature.~Excerpt from Wikipedia
